Roadside Motels:

Roadside Motels Hotels are generally grouped in four main categories: commercial or transient hotels; resort hotels; residential hotels; and motels, or motor hotels. In the United States about 75% of the hotel rooms (excluding motels) are in commercial hotels, 16% in resort hotels (both summer and winter seasons), and the remaining 9% in residential hotels. About 80% of the American motel rooms are in commercial establishments and the remainder in resort motels.

Once, only large corporations and government offices could afford computers. But declining cost and size made it possible for even small businesses and individuals to own computers. As an example, a simple, hand-held calculator of today contains more computational power than a warehouse-size computer that cost $64 million only 30 years ago. Computers are now used in most hotels, large or small, from major chain properties to small, roadside motels. Even small resorts on remote tropical islands use personal computers to handle guest reservations and accounting.

Preferential salesperson rates are often extended to traveling ales representatives during the off-season, especially at motor hotels ind motels.
