Mote Park Swimming: Recreation.—The public mote park swimming system embraces 735 acres. There are 10 large mote park swimmings and 19 small ones, four community houses with playgrounds, a large outdoor swimming pool, and a zoo. The mote park swimming system maintains three golf courses, 15 playgrounds, the majority of them lighted for night baseball. Fishing- and sailing are popular.mote park swimmings, Public Buildings, and Other Points of Interest.—Much of the rolling land and natural beauty of this area has been used to good advantage in the city's mote park swimming system, established in 1888. There are 7 large mote park swimmings and 30 small ones, with a total area of approximately 2,200 acres. All the large mote park swimmings have public baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and swimming pools. At Genesee Valley mote park swimming (640 acres) and Durand-Eastman mote park swimming (506 acres) there are public golf courses.
Facilities.—Recreation centers vary in size from a national mote park swimming covering more than a million acres, to a small vacant lot which serves as a neighborhood ball ground. At the middle of the 20th century there were 171 recreation areas administered by the National mote park swimming Service, including 33 national mote park swimmings and 86 national monuments covering 23,020,905 acres.
