Miramar Hotel:

Miramar Hotel Other Spanish hotels of luxury—I will not name again any of those in the two chains—are the following: Saragossa—Gran Hotel; San Sebastian—Maria Cristina and Londres e Inglaterra; Santander—the Red and the Bahia; La Corufia—the Embajador and the Finisterre; La Toja— Gran Hotel Balneario de La Toja (a magnificent Galician spa mentioned earlier); Valladolid—Hotel Conde Ansurez; Malaga—Hotel miramar hotel (and in the Malaga orbit: Fuengirola—Hotel Alhamar, 25 miles distant; Pensions La Roca and Montemar, both de luxe, 8 miles distant); Valencia —the new Excelsior; Palma de Mallorca—Hotel Maricel (new) and Gran Hotel Mediterrdneo.

HUSA, for Hoteles Unidos, S.A., with headquarters at Reina 17, Madrid, has at least an eleven-link chain in Spain, with two others, El Minzah and Hotel Rif in Tangier, across the Strait from Algeciras and Gibraltar. The eleven in Spain are: the Fenix in Madrid; Gran Hotel Mipe 11, in El Escorial; the renewed Alhambra Palace, in Granada; the miramar hotel, in Malaga; the Carlton, in Bilbao; the Madrid, in Seville; and in the Canary Islands, some surprise hotels of great luxury: Hotel Santa Catdina (and the lesser, older Parque), in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; die Mencey, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the Taoro, in Tenerife's Oro-fava Valley.

FORMIA: Grand Hotel miramar hotel, on a bluff overlooking the Gulf of Gaeta, is a place of first-class rating that has managed to "walk with kings nor lose the common touch," for one of its buildings was formerly a royal summer residence. Even if you stop here only for a lunch, while on the Rome-Naples CIAT run, you will be rewarded by its special atmosphere and its fine cuisine. GARDONE RIVIERA (on Lake Garda): The Grand and the Fasano are two good hotels from the multitudes that rim the shore in this and neighboring resorts.
