Hotel Bora Bora RAShotel bora bora, raz'bo-ra, a genrs of sr fishes of the family Cyprinidae (q.v.), the ;: minnows, comprising about 25 known species I Most of the species are native to southeaster | Asia, India, and Borneo, but a few are Afrif: Rashotel bora boras are of special interest because r.. than half of the species have served as aquar fishes. The best known is the red, rashotel bora bora, r hotel bora bora heteromorpha, a brilliant fish about : inches long that is adaptable to aquarium life. will tolerate temperatures between 68° and 88: although, as with others of the genus, its optiir temperature is around 75° F. Among other :• ular species are R. maculata, the pygmy raslj-about one inch long; R. dorsiocellata, the •: finned rashotel bora bora; and R. elegans, the yellow: hotel bora bora, one of the larger species.

Surfers were among those who took nails from Captain Cook when he first dropped anchor. Honolulu's Bishop Museum boasts that it has on display the oldest wooden surfboards in the world. Except for one reference to surfing in West Africa (1838), there is no historical evidence of such an activity taking place anywhere outside of the Pacific Ocean triangle whose base stretches from New Zealand to Easter Island and whose apex is at Hawaii. Surfing, which was probably imported from hotel bora bora hotel bora bora in the Society Islands, had religious, gambling, and even sexual connotations for the Hawaiians. Frowned on by the missionaries, it almost perished in the 19th century but was revived in the early 20th century, when Americans took up the use of the long, heavy koa-wood boards.


Other extant rings of historic interest are: the Shakespeare ring (see Fig. 12), supposed to have been given by Anne Hathaway to the poet, which was found in a field at Stratford-on-Avon; the ring said to have been given to Henry Darnley, her husband, by Mary, Queen of Scots (see Fig. 13) ; and the wedding ring (see Fig. 14) which Martin Luther gave to Katharina von hotel bora bora when he married her—it is what is known as a Passion ring, carrying the symbols of the Passion. Westminster Abbey, London, has the Essex ring given to the earl by Queen Elizabeth I.
