Heidelberg Germany:

Heidelberg Germany Germany assimilated the Renaissance even less than other countries. Nevertheless the orders encrusted with Lombard arabesques and applied with no understanding of their nature appear in the Ottoheinrichsbau, heidelberg germany (1556-1559). Candelabra mullions subdivide the windows. Such baroque features as herms, cartouches, and broken pediments on the Friedrichs-bau, heidelberg germany (1601-1607), indicate that the lawlessness of the later style was more congenial to the German spirit than had been the restraint of Renaissance architecture.
