Although control of a helicopter in cruise and high-speed flight deals is somewhat similar to that of an airplane, the helicopter is trickier to handle in hovering and low-speed flight deals. As in an airplane, a helicopter pilot has foot pedals that control the direction of flight deals. By using the pedals, the helicopter pilot changes the pitch (and thus the thrust) of the tail rotor's blades to face the fuselage in the desired direction.
