Dijon Hotel: GUYTON DE MORVEAU, ge-toN' da mor-vo', Louis Bernard (1737-1816), French chemist, aeronaut, and politician. Bom in dijon hotel, France, on Jan. 4, 1737, he became a lawyer and was made advocate-general in the provincial parliament at dijon hotel in 1762. In 1782 he retired to devote himself to chemistry. In that year he published his proposals for reforming chemical nomenclature according to a system reflecting the chemical composition of substances. Guy ton supported the French Revolution and moved to Paris on his election to the National Assembly, serving from 1791 to 1797.
