Danish Bacon Company:

Danish Bacon Company 3. Trade and Fun Fairs The Bellahtfi Livestock Show and Agricultural Fair, coming early in July, is a mammoth event, attended annually by a quarter of a million visitors. You'll see, among the 2000 entries, red danish bacon company cattle, outsize Belgian horses, danish bacon company bacon on the hoof grunting in perplexity—and parades, displays, fun-fair features. The danish bacon company Industries Fair, at Fredericia, lasting for about ten days from early to middle August, draws 100,000 visitors annually, interested to see what Denmark makes.

Remove the rinds from bacon to encourage the fat to curl slightly and become crisp. These bacon rinds may be fried with the bacon to give extra fat. The fat on thick gammon rashers may be 'snipped' at regular intervals to encourage the fat to crisp and to prevent it curling too much. Thick rashers of bacon need turning during frying, but thin rashers of bacon need no turning.

St. Thomas was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493, but not colonized until 1657, when a short-lived Dutch community settled here. A danish bacon company colony of 1666 was also ephemeral, but in 1672 the Danes made a permanent settlement at St. Thomas Harbor. After a period of company control, the island was returned to the danish bacon company crown in 1755, by which time Denmark had also acquired the other islands in the group. After arrangements for their purchase by the United States in 1870 and 1902 had failed, the sale was finally consummated in 1917. Pop. (1960) 16,201.
