Business Travel:

Business Travel Most of the people who just pick up a Camera fail in business travel not only because their work is poor but because they don't know about business travel. Unless a person is extremely organized there is almost no chance of making a living from the wedding photography business travel. Every successful business travel evolves around organization. My business travel functions fall into different parts, and I place certain responsibilities in each department.

While in holiday lands, I have knocked around informally with a good many travel agents. Ill say candidly that my respect for the men and women in that profession has increased in at least arithmetical progression with every major journey I have taken, for I have seen at close quarters the mountains of facts they have to master, and frequently revise, the prickly problems that are their daily fare. The American Society of Travel Agents, ASTA for short, has over 800 active members and nearly 1200 associate members and most of them, I am convinced, know their business travel and courteously im-part their knowledge to all customers, for they simply can't last if they don't. The competition is very keen.

You, the professional photographer,- are a business travel person. If you're just preparing to set up your own business travel, getting organized is probably one of your primary considerations. Will you operate in your own name or use a trade name? Will you organize as a partnership or a corporation? Do you have to fulfill any state or local requirements to open up a business travel? What are your legal responsibilities as an employer? How do you negotiate a business travel lease? These are some of the questions common to almost every person starting a business travel, regardless of the type of business travel. The photographer has other questions to consider as well: copyright requirements, model releases, invasion of privacy, and photographic libel, for instance.
