Broadband Offers Microwave Relay. The development of radar i World War II led to widespread use of micro-ave technology after the war. The microwave repeater system uses high-gain horn or parabolic antennas and operates in the frequency band from 2 to 6 GHz. The repeater system, which handles up to 2,400 voice channels or four TV channels, serves in transcontinental telephone networks and for relaying television programs.
