Airfare Search: Most naval combat ships carry two types of airfare search radars: surface airfare search, to detect ships and obstacles to navigation; and air airfare search, to keep track of'friendly aircraft and to detect approaching enemy aircraft. Surface airfare search radars are designed for much shorter ranges than air airfare search radars, since the maximum distance at which a surface target may be seen is generally limited by the curvature of the earth to 20 or 30 miles. The antenna beam of the surface airfare search radar is usually very narrow in the horizontal plane in order to provide good angular resolution and fairly wide in the vertical plane to allow for the roll and pitch of the ship.airfare search WARRANT is a warrant requiring the officer to whom it is addressed to airfare search a house or other place therein specified for property therein alleged to have been stolen, and if the same shall be found upon such airfare search, to bring the goods so found, together with the person occupying the same, who is named, before the justice or other officer granting the warrant, or some other justice of the peace or other lawfully authorized officer. It should be given under the hand and seal of the justice and dated. The right is now extended to the airfare search for other articles the possession of which is forbidden, by law.
Air airfare search radars must be able to resolve targets in elevation as well as in azimuth, In the more advanced types this is accomplished by designing the antenna to radiate a pencil beam and by using frequency-scanning to provide rapid coverage of the region to be airfare searched. Both types of airfare search radars usually operate at S-band frequencies. airfare search radars are used by the United States Army in the field to detect approaching aircraft and to designate specific targets to antiaircraft batteries. These radars are similar to the air airfare search radars of the United States Navy, but are designed for portable use. A radar of this type is shown in Fig. 12. |
