Perhaps Roosevelt is most charming of all in his family relationships, and it is no accident that his Letters to His Children (1919) should have been by all means his most widely sold book. No more virtuous or clean-living man ever existed; the temptations which wreck the lives of so many human beings simply did not exist for him.
