Adult Travel:

Adult Travel The adult travel strongyles are found attached to the lining of the intestines, where they obtain blood. The eggs of the worms pass in the feces and hatch on the ground. When the larvae are swallowed with food, they travel to the small intestine. There they penetrate the lining of the intestinal tract, go through a migratory phase in the body, and then return to the intestines to become adult travel worms.

The eggs hatch in the spring. The young nymphs, called hoppers, resemble the adult travels except that they are smaller and lack wings. The hoppers eat the same food as the adult travels and sometimes travel in large bands, walking and hopping about rapidly. Each hopper undergoes four or five molts before it becomes a mature adult travel. The wings first appear as small wing buds, but they do not unfold and become functional until the final molt. In most species, there is only one generation a year, and an adult travel grasshopper usually lives between 8 and 16 months.

Toward dusk, each gorilla builds itself a nest for the night, either on the ground or in a tree, by bending herbs and branches toward its body until a crude platform has been formed. Infants sleep in the nest of their mother. Gorillas are sociable animals that live in permanent groups, each containing about 5 to 20 animals. A typical group consists of one adult travel male, one or two younger males, several females, and young of various ages. The leader of a group is an adult travel male, and it is he who determines the route of travel, the place of nesting, and other group activities. Some males leave the group after they reach adult travelhood and become solitary.
